Ball Lock Pins (Quick Release Pins)
Ball Lock Pins according to Aerospace Standards(MS 17984 – 17987 / NAS 1333, NAS 1334, NAS 1335, NAS 1336, NAS 1337, NAS 1338, NAS 1339, NAS 1340, NAS 1341, NAS 1342, NAS 1343) These are self-locking, single-acting pins. The locking balls are released without tools by using a push-button. Ball lock pins are also commonly referred to as quick-release pins, safety pins, or hitch pins. They are utilized for fastening, locking, connecting, adjusting, or rapid repositioning. Ball lock pins are widely used in Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) operations. Examples include their use as gear pins or steering bypass pins for aircraft pushback.
